Columbo Asthma, Allergy and Immunology is Hiring a Medical Receptionist Near Bryn Mawr, PA

A private Allergy and Immunology practice in Bryn Mawr, PA, is seeking a dependable, part-time medical receptionist to work Mondays in Bryn Mawr 2:00pm-7:00pm, Fridays in second office in Berwyn 12:30pm to 5:00pm, and the first and third Saturday of each month in Bryn Mawr 8:30am to 12:00noon. Candidates must have a flexible enough schedule to occasionally cover vacation/sick days for full time staff. The ideal candidate will be punctual, efficient, and organized with a professional appearance and attitude, excellent communication and time management skills, and reliable transportation. Previous office experience is required, medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Greet patients when they arrive, ensuring insurance information and any other necessary patient information has been obtained and entered into our EMS
  • Research insurance plans and process payments from patients for co-pays, deductibles, and uninsured visits
  • Provide patients with legally required documents such as privacy, insurance, and financial policies
  • Answer and manage phones
  • Schedule appointments for new and recurring patients, maintain physician calendar, and call patients to remind them of upcoming appointments
  • Maintain patient charts as well as the files stored in our EMS
  • Perform other duties such as filing, photocopying, and faxing
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable

Skills:

  • Strong candidates will have experience with medical insurance as well as experience with electronic data entry
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance
  • Minimum education high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a receptionist, front office representative, or similar role
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • ‘Can-do’ attitude
